The fall season does not technically start for over a month but the first ordered fall series premieres tonight on ABC. Check out my review of ABC’s Shark Tank.
What ABC’s Says: From Mark Burnett, executive producer of “Survivor” and “The Apprentice,” and Sony Pictures Television comes “Shark Tank,” an exciting, new reality show that gives budding entrepreneurs the chance to make their business dreams come true and become successful and possibly wealthy. But the entrepreneurs must first try to convince five tough, multi-millionaire tycoons to part with their own hard-earned cash and give them the funding they need to jump-start their ideas. The series premieres SUNDAY, AUGUST 9 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET), immediately after “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” makes its return to ABC Primetime with a special 10th Anniversary Edition.
Fun Facts: The series time slot is actually Tuesdays at 8/7c were it will air after taking a break in late August starting September 29th before Dancing with The Stars although some say it might not even get there.
The Plot in my Words: 5 rich men and woman who made their money by working hard and getting lucky, listen to people’s ideas and either reject or invest in their products or ideas.
The Good: The show has a heart and I enjoy that. The people really think they have good ideas and have there soul in them and often times they are good except for a few silly exceptions. It is really interesting to see folks ideas and some things you could actually use, and some of the sharks and really nice and kind like Barbara, teh only woman on the panel. Some however can be a little rude…
The Bad: The show plays up the “shark” metaphor a little too much to the point that it gets annoying at times. Also, the show maybe thinks it is bigger than it actually is and comes of pertinacious at times.
Overall: Thinking back at the pilot, I enjoyed the episode and rooted for the people trying to make it big. I will check it out as long as it is on air.
